Camping in Straja

We checked in at about 2 on Sunday afternoon. VIATA camp is housed in Straja, a ski resort with facilities for eating and sleeping. I
The Romanian kids and our kids were divided into five groups to meet and get to know each other. All the group leaders speak English as well as many of the campers.

At the end of the afternoon there were group games with lots of running and silliness
Jack lead the large group activities.

The setting is spectacular with Lupeni in the valley below
Monday there were low ropes activities for most though some groups did rock climbing and orienteering

This is the green wall in the Straja camp
Joe had a starring role in the Monday evening skits.

After the skits we hiked to the chapel for a talk from Dana Bates.

Lights out at 11

  1. Oh, the places you've been...and the interesting things you have done...and the great people you have met...and the new friends you have made...impressive! You have--without a doubt--been surrounded with beauty in countryside, city scapes, architecture, friendship, mountains and valleys, AND you have balanced well your work and play time. Prayerfully you are all also resting well. Here back on beautiful Cape Ann we're thankful for you and for all the special ways you are being a blessing serving Christ in Lupeni and now Strajs. We pray you are also the receivers of many, many blessings from God and from all those who serve him there with you. Enjoy your days in the stunning mountains there. Love the photos and all the accompanying explanations. Thank you and may God continue to bless you richly. Love and peace in Christ, Lillian
